With the second annual Heavy Music Awards set to hit London’s KOKO in just a few hours, we caught up with our three presenters for their take on what’s to come.
Sophie Eggleton and Neil Jones will be warming things up on the red carpet. Sophie said, “Having worked in various roles within the industry for about ten years from with Journalism, PR and marketing, to interviewing and photography and seeing how hard working and passionate so many people are about artists and the music, it’s a privilege to be able to celebrate some of them via these awards!”
Neil Jones, who has become a hugely respected voice in rock, not least with his work on Cambridge 105 Radio, will be interviewing attendees alongside Sophie. He said, “It’s an absolute honour to be involved with the HMAs. It’s awesome to see an evening celebrating the heavier end of music, from the music being made and the gigs being played to other creative industries that represent one of the most vibrant scenes in the UK music industry.”
Sophie K, who hosted the inaugural Heavy Music Awards at House of Vans in 2017, returns once again. “I am so excited to be a part of the second year of the most important awards in our scene. KoKo is the perfect venue and I know that the energy in that room will be epic, especially when The Fever 333 take the stage! Last year we had the best list of celebs in attendance so I can’t wait to see who will be walking the red carpet this year.”
