“I’m absolutely thrilled to participate in the inaugural Heavy Music Awards. This is a style, a scene, and a group of people who are often marginalized by mainstream culture, regularly neglected, looked down upon, swept aside, or worse (just ask Judas Priest in the 1980s, right?). The heavy music community is large enough to support multiple bands, record labels, management firms, booking agencies, festivals, merchandise companies, lawyers — why shouldn’t it support award shows, as well?”
