With a background as a singer in a signed and touring band, Leander ventured further into the music industry in 2004 via music journalism, as a feature writer for Terrorizer, Rock Sound, Metal Hammer and Kerrang. From 2005 – 2007 Leander worked as Editor-In-Chief for Tuned Magazine, co-presented a music review show on Sky channel ‘Rockworld TV’ and worked as a rock specialist publicist for London based agency Velocity PR. During 2006, Leander’s work as a publicist for Architects evolved and a career in artist management began. After six years working as an independent, most notably with Architects and Lower Than Atlantis, Leander signed Neck Deep at their second ever show and joined KMGMT, a Los Angeles-based music management and services company. Leander is now in his fourth year at KMGMT, where his roster features some of the key names in the UK alternative scene: Neck Deep, Creeper and As It Is.
“Heavy music has been a huge part of my life for over 20 years, it helped me find friends, love and a career. I feel very proud to be a part of the community that surrounds heavy music, and it’s very exciting to see these new awards rising up to celebrate it. Very happy to be a part of the panel and this new endeavour.”
