Judith Fisher could not have asked for a introduction to the metal scene in late 80s when she started work as a PR at Noise Records, even if she did get a chastised by John Peel for sending him a Mordred single late! Following several years at Noise, she worked with iconic and soon to be legendary bands at Geffen/MCA (Press) and Musidisc (Label Manager), before deciding that she wanted to be able to focus more on working specific campaigns to suit bands she loved. This led to the birth of BJF PR and Judith hasn’t looked back since, working with some phenomenal up and comers as well as more established artists, the likes of Danko Jones, Evil Scarecrow, Danzig, Seething Akira, Nine Miles South and many more.
“Having been involved in this industry for so long and watched as this genre spent decades stuck on the periphery of the music awards scene, I’m absolutely delighted to see the Heavy Music Awards is now stepping up to fill this void. This is a fantastic opportunity for all in this genre to be given the recognition they truly deserve by both industry and fans alike, and I’m honoured to be involved with them!”
